The little-known story of hundreds of thousands of foreign citizens plunged into the torment of the gulag system.

Men, women and children from Europe, America, Japan and Korea, forced to live in slavery in the brutal and sinister work camps of Russia. The camps closed in 1986 but hundreds of survivors had neither the money nor the papers allowing them to return home.

They live today as lost souls, with just a few roubles per month handed out by their former KGB guards. This film contains exclusive archive footage shot inside the camps themselves.
